Dear AIDAT Member Community
Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor was announced in 2018 by the then Defence Minister Mrs Nirmala Seetharaman and it consists of five nodes across Tamil Nadu - Chennai, Trichy, Salem, Coimbatore and Hosur. The intent is to develop the aerospace and defence industries, both existing and new ones, across the nodes with support from the DPSUs, Large Indian Defence companies, Foreign OEMs, and active support from the state and central government. AIDAT is playing an active role by bringing together the various capabilities and competencies of the A&D companies in TN and presenting the same with the stakeholders to increase business opportunities.
This topic covers one such large opportunity that will bring 1000s of crores of opportunity to TN over the next 5-10 years. Dr. Christopher, AIDAT Chairman and currently a professor at IIT Madras, will be talking on the subject. There cannot be a better speaker on this subject, as Dr Christopher led the concept to commissioning of the India's first AEW&C platform -Netra - that has proven in the combat for the Indian Air Force.
